The Colorado Marching Arts Visual Initiative (CMAVI) works in coordination with local organizations like RMCGA to strengthen the visual aspects of marching programs within the state of Colorado. With consultation and collaboration, CMAVI has organized clinics across the state, compiled resources and webinars to educate instructors, and created a scholarship fund to assist performers in reaching their aspirations. The initiative is based on the principles of collaboration, equity, and improvement — striving to share knowledge and mentor future generations of performers and instructors while reducing the barriers distance and cost can create. As the initiative moves forward, it is the hope that more perspectives from across the nation can be brought in to make Colorado even more exceptional in the marching arts. CMAVI is a collective of judges, instructors, band directors, board members, and performers, past and present, invested in sharing their knowledge and resources to improve the marching arts in our wonderful state.
